Subscribe comes with its own custom in-built email server, capable of reliably delivering up to 100,000 emails per hour.
This multi-threaded server is purpose built for sending large quantities of emails, and allows user configuration of its technical settings, such as the number of threads to use, and number of emails to deliver per connection, number of retries, retry delays, and SMTP timeouts.
These settings allow you to maximise your delivery rate, without overburdening your Subscriber's mail servers, and prevents you being marked as a spammer.

You can interact with Subscribe and its database(s) either via the Subscribe web interface, or directly via XML

The following are the technical requirements for hosting Subscribe:
Microsoft MS SQL Server 2005
Windows 2003 Server or Linux (Redhat Enterprise 3, Redhat 9, Redhat Fedora, Debian GNU/Linux, SUSE Linux, most other Linux distros)
Server should be in a DMZ with unrestricted outbound access to the internet
Ports 25, 80 and 22 UDP and TCP need to be open on the firewall
SSH or Remote Desktop access should be restricted to ION network if remote support is required
The server should have a forward and reverse lookup with a live domain name attached
Any domains being used to send mail should have an appropriate SPF record set up, that reflects the address of the Subscribe server
The server should have MySQL or MSSQL
The server should have Apache or IIS web servers installed
PERL version 5.8 or greater should be installed
